26.2.2020 — 15.3.2020Concept of my art
My art work is metaphorical images, inspired by the memories I have from Habikino village Japan. The Finnish nature and culture reminds me of Habikino. That is why I feel drawn to return to Finland so often.
Habikino is my home. The deep Japanese forest is essential for my working. Most of my significant memories with my family take place in the inspiring nature.
When I was a child, Habikino’s nature was destroyed and a monotonous city was built quickly. The people accepted the great change, and I felt that people did not understand a child`s sorrow from the lost of old forests, valleys and ponds. Today, everything is built flatland.
My paintings have humor, mystery, fantasy and sometimes violence and fear. The real wonder exists in the real wild nature.
Rivers too rapid to cross, water too deep to see through to the bottom, hills covering the visibility …invisible landscapes and untouchable matters of the amazing real nature.
My personality and identity are based on the memory of Habikino.
