In her solo exhibition house like moon, Eeva Lietonen explores the experience of being in the world, materiality, and the layers of time. The exhibition intertwines past and present, the visible and the invisible. Themes such as soil, release, touch, and the cycle of matter create encounters where growth and decay, understanding and hesitation coexist.
The oil paintings, frescoes, and forged iron structures in the exhibition form assemblages of materials, energies, and temporalities. Through an earthy color palette, the works reveal comforting premonitions, protective figures, and shared, hidden traits. They invite viewers closer—toward something mysterious and perceptible. Rather than guiding toward a fixed interpretation, they leave space for open-ended encounters.
The title house like moon reflects the fluid and multi-meaning imagery of the works. Their forms and meanings are not fixed but flow into one another, extend beyond the obvious, and remain in constant motion—like the earth itself.
